    any tips on getting out the emulsion tube when they are stuck in the carburator?

    • @ZombieDaveAZ
      @ZombieDaveAZ 7 днів тому

      Jim, first I would research if a NEW carburetor is available to you and if that's a viable option. If you locate one, just know that worst case scenario is that will have to buy it if things go wrong. I have had some stubborn E tubes in the past. Generally a good amount of WD40 and pushing down with a flat screwdriver will get it loose. You may also need a small Allen wrench to help it out the last little bit. The angle on the Allen wrench is what does it. For a good visual there is a gentleman on UA-cam "Bruce's shop". He does a lot of these carburetors and is very good at it. I hope it helps you out.

    • @ZombieDaveAZ
      @ZombieDaveAZ 15 днів тому

      Hey Gary, that's a good question. When I read it I tried to do a little sleuthing on the subject. If it was a security issue (from what I'm reading) it would show a hard code that could be read from an OBDII scanner. Perhaps and this is just a guess but perhaps a super high dollar scan tool could reset that code. That would be the way to go I think. If it's a "hard" code, disconnecting the battery would not erase it. So basically I am no help to you on this. Perhaps a 4runner forum would help you to narrow this down. Best of luck my friend. 🤔

    I got a 4218 that I have modified everything on. Nothing left but the ring on the filter cover, bored the carb venturi out from 9.5mm to 12mm and shaved the butterfly shafts and screws, ported,muffler modded, ignition timing advance, opened the hole up from the fan to the carb section, ground all the safety rakers off the chain etc. Went from 14 seconds to 7 seconds on the same log. What has remained consistent is it won't hot restart unless you pull the trigger. Pull the trigger and it hot restarts 1st pull every time. So if you have one and nothing else works try that. Come to think of it, setting it back to fast idle might also work. I haven't tried it or even thought about it until now, found a solution that worked and didn't pursue it further.

    • @ZombieDaveAZ
      @ZombieDaveAZ 19 днів тому

      It sounds like you have a helluva saw! Yes, for hot starts and just general operations it's always best just to read the owners manual. For restarts : pull the choke all the way out and then halfway back in. That sets the high idle. Good luck with your modded saw. 👍🍺
